How do you find solid reliable MLM - to choose from?

Hello Shema,

That's a great question and one that not enough people stop to think about. Your career can only be as good as the company you choose to represent.

In general, pick a company that offers a product or service that you can be passionate about. In today's economy, I recommend you stay away from start-up companies and look for a company over 5 years old that is experiencing solid growth. Success begets success; company momentum makes your job a lot easier.

Here are two resources to get you going in the right direction.

MLM Company Directory
Here is a complete listing of companies. It has a search feature that let's you search by product type, compensation plan type, and sales method. It also tells you if the company is a member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association). This is a strong plus that indicates a stable company.

Top 50 Network Marketing Companies
This list helps you to find the companies that have action going on. It's a list of companies over 5 years old and their page rank with Alexa. That means the companies are sorted by how many people are visiting their website. It's not a sure indicator of a company's momentum, but it's one of the better guidelines available. You'll have to scroll down the page to find the list.

It's hard to find a comprehensive list online that isn't slanted by someone promoting their own opportunity. I liked the mlm.com list and recommended for a long tme. I didn't realize that they haven't updated it in so long!

The Kim Klaver list remains the best gauge of activity and momentum. Anyone looking for an opportunity should take the time to check the company out throughly. And again, stabllity needs to be a top priority in these turbulent economic times.

It's my experience that you need to distinguish clearly between Network marketing which is the oldest and one of the most moral forms of marketing and MLM's. The very term Multilayer Marketing means you are likely to get involved with a company that will negatively impact on your spiritual beliefs. To make money in most MLM's you have to build a massive downline and just recruit like mad, and most do not sell a product of any real value because if they did then it would not be MLM it then becomes MRM Multi-Relational Marketing or Direct Sales. Any MLM that say's they can make you rich overnight is usually ethically unsound. They will use any trick to get someone aboard, leave that person and move on to the next.

There is a way to assess an Network marketing opportunity and it's based on your main character tyoe:

If you enjoy selling and are good at closing a sale then you can profit in a company where you profit from continual recruiting, if you are not good at selling (as opposed to marketing) then you should join a company that rewards long term team building and residual income.

The right connection between opportunity and person. You need to find an opportunity that is right for you.

There are thousands of people signing up with great companies and still fail. So what's the problem? Two words, Due Diligence. Anyone wanting to buy a multi-million dollar company always does a due diligence; they check out the opportunity with due diligence to ensure that it will deliver the results they want in the way they want them. network marketing may not cost a million bucks but, over years, it has all the potential to deliver millions of dollars to the people who work it properly. It really is a million dollar opportunity so do the due diligence.

Have you found your answer yet ? As for me, I can only tell you what worked for me. I have been involved with a lot of MLMs.. and what has worked for me is the one that I can believe in. Of course, that would be with the Wellness Industry. But which one, right ? There are many fruit drinks out there. But I did my " DUE DILIGENCE". I checked out the company, how long it has been in business, the people who run it, DSA membership, publicly traded. Then comes the product - is it really effective ? can children take it ? does it interfere with medication ? does it have preservatives? etc.. then I looked at the need for it.

I company I am with passed with flying colors. Even the past pope had a montly shipment sent to him.. LOL.. most of all, the company has a foundation to feed the children, and establish feeding stations all over the world. I felt good about that. Not to mention that the compensation plan has integrity.

As I am following the messages of Abraham-Hicks, I see how my business resonates with the teachings. The people need the products, and the products need these people. I am very pleased with my decision. It is not all about the money. As a distributor, not only do I help people with their health conditions, but I also help them make a business on a product that sells itself.
