- About Me:
- I have been a student of the Law of Attraction for a while now... under different names, an ever evolving spiritual path.. .my first awareness to the here and now started off with a high school Civics teacher suggesting that I look at things at a deeper level.
In the 70's, I discovered Unitarian/Universalism and felt I was on track to that something. Moved on to Divine Science and then discovered Treasure Mapping.... a process that amazed me and my husband. We got involved in a 12 step program in 90's and that's when the floodgates opened up!!! Then we moved on into Unity and I explored Masterminding, a process I still like today. On our last move, we discovered Religious Science and at the same time "The Secret" I bought the movie, book on DVD, and the book... I've taken a class thru Religious Science on The Secret getting more tools. It was during that class where I/we actively utilized the principles of the law of attraction and saw how it manifested in our lives.
1st example: I was in a job that was perfect for me, good money, close to home, able to work at my own pace and schedule... then I started focusing on my bosses and complaining "they don't understand what I do" "they don't listen to me" and started building a resentment and manifesting exactly what I was saying and creating more negative stuff... so during that time, I determined I was going to change this and wrote up exactly what I wanted from this job... in exact detail and I reviewed this often.. even having the writing with me, sometimes even writing down more things of what I wanted and being thankful having it. I was called into a conference with my boss who had "written" me up for the issues I had been focusing on previously... my reaction to this interview was loving detachment... that wasn't me, but it was me - a different me. I signed my written counseling and added my truth and response. A week later, I received a pay raise... I was pleasantly surprised! And thankful!
Example 2 - Jim & I moved to Baltimore, MD in 2005 where Jim commuted to Arlington, VA daily for his work. We were expecting that he would be retiring in a couple of years unless another opportunity with his work came up... we were being open to possibilities. For some 10 or more years we had been toying with the idea of being bed and breakfast innkeepers..we have the antiques and some furnishings that needed to be in a larger house to be enjoyed by us and we knew others would enjoy too... besides we like to entertain.
So in 2006 we took a one day inspiring innkeeper workshop, liked what we learned and started looking into this further - reading books, looking online for b&b's for sale. At the time we took The Secret class, we already were already looking but didn't have a clear vision. We attended a 2 day workshop for aspiring innkeepers that helped us develop the vision and we got a sketch on paper with our class notes. The Secret class helped us define in greater detail beginning with a statement of "I am happy and grateful now......" we filled in the blank with our vision. Then we used a tool "100 ways to support our goal" - listing exactly that. We put our house on the market and it was on the market for only 3 months... in a real estate market that was at time and still is the pits in Baltimore - we had buyers, we found our bed and breakfast shortly thereafter. We closed on the property August 24 and opened September 1, 2007.
Jim & I became the poster children of the class... not really, but it felt so great and continues to feel great to have something we had dreamed about, written about, acted as if about, thanked about become a reality. I am grateful daily about this.
So our intentions continue to build on this - building our occupancy rate to 50% or greater, having staff that hate dirt and love clean, being able to take time off with innsitters available to enjoy at least one or two vacations a year, having family and friends come visit frequently, being community and environmental stewards. The list is growing!
I am now getting ready to embark on more personal growth issues - mostly around my good (excellent) health. I am so thankful that I have this process and other like-minded friends in this community to share my experience, strength and hope.

Just to let you know that there is a CD out called "Positive Attraction", with all the affirmations of the Law of Attraction put into song. You can now sing to your believes whenever, wherever.
