- Well, I'll betcha Bummer Clapsaddle knew Walter Kreklowicz and Porky Beames -- probably visited with 'em out there in the hills 'n picked himself some real butter and some home-grown eggs, he did, 'n took 'em back to the city 'n told all his friends about his visit and the time he went huntin' with Jasper Pogue and they almost caught a bear 'n stuff....

I actually have written some quite silly stories of some fictitious individuals who live in a community (likewise fictitious) called Skunkville, NY. Not far from Mudd Flats. They get into all sorts of shenanigans, and there are MANY of them. I had a friend there who did pencil drawings of the characters we made up. I call my compilation of the many stories "Skunkville Follies." I dig them out now and then, then put them away for a while. I've edited a good number of them, and thrown the serious ones away. The rest are just quirky, kinda like Lake Wobegone or something. Or maybe more like Mayberry RFD.
The people are caricatures and blends of people I've known throughout my life...
And they have funny names like Dorothea Furtwanger and her cousin, Tuesnelda Lappenschlepper...Arnold Rock, Olivera McFeeney and her sister, Ona Mae, the Rev. Roland Gossamer and his wife Zelda...
and on and on...gosh, I miss 'em! LOL!

- I live in southeast Iowa -- just south of Iowa City, the mecca of medical research and teaching, former (recreational) drug capital of the world (so they say!). Washington is a rural community very close to where I grew up on a good old farm. We were not John Deere fanatics, if farm implements (your green and yellow still throws me into the tractor vibe) are even of interest to you, LOL! Ah, but you would not eat if it weren't for the good folks out here and all throughout the rural parts of this country!
I lived in upstate NY; near Delhi, for a year and I loved it there. I really enjoyed New York and I miss it more than most places I've ever lived.
I would like to read your book -- when I get a chance to breathe!

- I've done that with short stories and papers -- and lots of other stuff -- reading and editing and making it just right...
I guess I've got the bug.
I even re-read my posts in P.I. most of the time -- I don't edit a lot, but just enough to be...maybe dangerous, maybe too perfectionistic!

That is what works for me in that I ask and then I forget about it and then it manifests. I find trusting in the universe that I get what I really need to be happy. I have a crane picture in my house that is silk screen that I just love! I have a fascination with cranes & roosters too. I found out that they both symbolize prosperity.
