I am THANKFUL that I no longer embrace some of my earlier childhood beliefs such as:

I disagree. The speed of the heat beat or breathing may or may not change . I have been at level with my heart racing .
I find that my breathing becomes rhythmic, but I do not always notice . Alpha is where you want to be to program .Some people claim theta is a better because it is a lower level ,but I tend to go to sleep at theta . I am usually at Alpha most of the day .Yes that is right eyes open going about my life in Alpha !
Alpha is not some magical state of mind . Alpha is a very natural state of mind and I"m sure you are in Alpha many times a day .
I guess the first step every one need to do is to recognize Alpha level of mind .
When I first started exploring the inner mind ,I found short cuts to being in Alpha .
It was in the 60's and early 70's when altered states of mind was a hot topic .
Most used drugs. Peyote, pot ,mushrooms were the drug of most .
I did not want to use those methods .but did want to inner awareness high I had so much read about .
I found meditation with chants and it took me a few years just to be able to relax and be in a meditative state of mind . I then found my short cuts . I would go to my shower and let the shower hit the shower curtain . The sound produced a feeling of well being .From there I would just relax and start meditating .I then read that by cutting ping pong balls in half and taping them to your eyes and staring into them ,that ,that would generate Alpha . So all this was fun but had no purpose, other that relaxing and having the altered state of mind feeling.
It was not until 1978 when I found the Silva Method that I realized there could be real purpose in using your mind in these states of mind .
I had no trouble recognizing the Alpha level of mind ,since I had been there many times.
I find that most people try to hard and have high expectations of what going to level is . I say don't worry about it just go .All that and more comes later .
One important note . I am not a Silva Instructor but I am willing to answer any question as best I can with my experience.
Yes the 3 2 1 will take you to level immediately eventually .The more you go to level the more you will find it is easy to go . I go at will .Eyes open and fully at beta then a just defocus hold my three finger together in the three finger technique .It happens in a second I am then able to use more of my mind for what ever is necessary.
I am no one special, I was not born with abilities, this is a learned ability that any one that wants it can do it .

- About Me:
- My name is John Rodgers. I reside in the Naugatuck Valley section of CT, USA. I am 50 years in this form,awakened to truth, ( partially at age 12) fully at age 26. I have been on a journey of self discovery for 24 years. About 7-8 years ago, I felt a very sudden, but extremely powerful Nudge" to share my insight with the world. The Christian Church I belong to refers to this as "My Call", however, I am not called to Christian ministry, but to share my insight into the "Oneness of All That Is".
I have been working with youth groups of high school age, teaching Sunday school, ( with a twist) to 7th & 8th graders, and writing "Positive thinking" articles for church newsletters.
