I never fully understood the meaning of the phase "what you resist persists" until I read Eckhart Tolle's book The Power of Now. Resistance is any form of negativitiy, anger, resentment, jealous feelings and so on. When you feel these feelings you resist what is and therefore create more of those same feelings. If you want a better way of life, accept what is and feel the freedom this brings you.
