- About Me:
- I come from an extremly abusive home which I dealt with by usng alcohol and drugs. I started drinking when I was 11 and started using drugs when I was 13. By the time I was 16 I was in a rather large motorcycle gang and I've witnessed some horrible things. To be honest, I thought violemce was funny because of my homelife. I actually liked watching. My feeling was if I had to suffer wy not them. That's how sick I was. Of course today I won't even watch an R-rated movie because I can't stand the language, sex, and vilolence.
Somehow I did make my way to college where I majored in psychology. I also met my husband there. Although the drinking and drug use continued, I did graduate, got married and earned 2 master's degrees, one in special education, and the other in rehabilitation counseling. I also became a school psychologist. And had the most wonderful son on earth. I am proud to say I did not use while pregnant. I worked as a teacher in a special school for kids with severe behavior disorders. In other words, they were great big gang kids who lived with violence. I chose this career for a simple reason: I was one of them. I understood them.
My life went on, drinking and drugging until I was first introduced to Louise Hay in the late 1980s. At this point I was an alcoholic, a drug addict, and I had bulimia. I was a horrible mother. Not abusive, but neglectful. The fact that I missed my child's early years still haunts me and probably always will. When I read, You Can Heal Your Life was my first introduction to the concept of forgiveness.I refused to forgive for years because I believed it let them off the hook. When I finally intued that forgiveness was for me and meant letting go I was able to forgive.
I had also always toyed with Einstein's Theory of Relativity because it seemed to me that his theroy and the explaination of God were one and the same. What is God? Something that always was and always will be. What is energy? Something that can be neither created nor destroyed. To me they were one and the same. God is energy. And the combination of all the energy on this earth creates something greater (a gestalt) that can be manipulated by our thoughts and actions. The more I thought about it and learned about the aliveness of everything, how everything gives off an electrical vibration, how everything has waves with subatomic particles that bouce in set patterns and attract similar vibratons, the moreI understood my world and why I did the things I did. .And why the negative kept coming into my life. Because I was attracing it through my output. And I have the ability to change that. That's what's wonderful about being human.
I'm grateful to say that I've been clean and sober for about 4 years. But this lengthy story doesn't end here.
After my first year of sobriety I started to get really sick. High fevers, chronic pain, exhaustion. When I was diagnosed and was told that it was caused by my having wiped out my immune system through my addictions and that I would be in bed for about a yeat and then after that have the fibromyalgia and the fatigue I really thought m life was over. I can't walk well, I get confused easily, my photographic memory is gone. I'm not allowed to drive. Awful, huh?
Well, it's not. I believe there's a reason for everything. I had the childhood I had so I could teach those kids. And I got sick so I could share my story and hopefully help others. And that's what I'm doing. And the more I learn about the energies and attraction, intention, and manifestation, the more I can share and learn. And hopefully help change the vibration of this planet and, on a larger sense, this universe. As I seek to do the right thing I put out positive energy that hopefully changes everything around me. And I believe that if we all do that, think on a global level as well as a personal and interpersonal level then we can truly change what appears to be out of reach. That's why I'm here.
There's a blessing and a lesson in everything. It's been 3 1/2 years and I'm learning both. And believe it or not, I'm grateful. Because I'm in a unique position yet again to make a difference. Still not all there but that's ok. As more is revealed the more I can do. And if I could work, drive, etc I wouldn't be in the position to make a difference. And for that I am truly grateful. Because all of our lives depend on those who want to make a positive change on this earth. And I intend to do it one person at a time, starting with me.

First of all thank you for sharing your incredible story. It tugs at my heart, because I too have been on a fantastic journey. Thanks for being my friend also. I have been through a lot myself and I am grateful for the hard times as well as the good because I realize I may have asked for this journey. It is because I have been brought into this world blessed by having the most beautiful woman I have ever krown as my grandmother. She was very wealthy financially and in absolutely every single way. She spent every day reading to me as a young child. I know what it's like to have absolutely everything in life a person could want. She was love personified. She is my loving mentor for my whole life. I asked God to make my character like hers in every way possible. I asked Him to make me into the kindest person like her. (I fall short, I'm afraid)....Needless to say I didn't know that in order to be kind I would have to suffer to know what compassion truly was/is. So I've had lots of people try to break me and I am a very sensitive person, an artist. I had a lot of people blocking me in my life. I've learned that sometimes the people we love block us, as we do ourselves, block ourselves sometimes too. I belive these blocks are fear and jealously on the part of others and my love for them has caused me to lose many things. I believe when we lose we are merely trading, because in every experience we always gain and those gains are immeasurable and invaluable. That's why I never have regrets. I keep striving, growing, evolving, but I do love to look back at the road I have traveled. I find that fascinating. I asked my co-worker the other day "What was the worst thing you ever got as a child trick-or-treating" and he said "That's the past!" a very negative answer. I have to thank God I am not like that.....as our group conversation we were having at the time was fun and entertaining...one man said "I got cigarettes and a beer, but I didn't drink it" so it's very easy to see the positive people from the negative for me. In my lifetime even though I chose to love the people in my path versus running away from the negative people, they have altered my destiny perhaps....but I chose to know them and love them, even though I don't believe in alcohol or drugging because we are all in this world together and I believe there are no "better" people, we are all just people, only different. Recently a very rich was assuming that I am, in fact, stupid for loving the people I have loved, one of which I have a child by this man....and I do not judge his past partners in any way. I just have to say "thank God I am above making harsh judgements and my character is not like his".....because I value kindness so much. Because of this I was able to find a very valuable statement by Napoleon Hill "Every adversity has within it the seeds of an equivalent or a greater benefit"...which I believe is a more clarifying statement than "Every cloud has a silver lining"...so by myself, naturally I found that in this case the silver lining was my Egyptian love seeking me out and apologizing for his very busy schedule and confessing his love again....so look for the happiness in every seemingly bad situation and you will find the incredible joy that is right around the corner. Do not despair, just be looking for the good that's going to appear..... I also realize I can't "save" anybody, even though I am very religious. If I could i would "save" my own daughter. I begged her not to try/do drugs, but I couldn't stop her. I can't blame myself, because I know I am a very good mother. So I must just focus on everybody else that I love, including myself and that's where I believe happiness lies.....just ask the Universe for what you want and believe with all your heart you will get it. Doesn't this sound so simple? If only we would have been taught this when we were little right? We could've saved ourselves a lot of steps. Smile. I also love to ponder everything since I'm naturally curious. I will pray for you.....for the good and for your happiness. Love & take care.......Bev
