- Layla is a beautiful little angel with special abilities. They tell me that she has a condition known as Down's Syndrome. I don't know much about disabilities. layla doesn't either. She'll never understand the way we do. She'll never ask why until we can't think of a good answer to the fiftyeth one. She just listens very closely as though she hears musical notes when I speak and she smiles at me. Few people have honored me more so sweetly. None more innocently. I wiLL defend her rights as my own for as long as I am able. Thank you for reminding me that she is one of many like her.
