I just joined Chris Tinney's new Namaste group - what an excellent concept! Basically, you introduce yourself, then you post what you appreciate about yourself and others.
Now, I admit, I'm used to appreciating and showing gratitude for others... but for myself?? That was a new concept. But - wow - when I did it, I really felt something shift.
I've been practicing turning inward lately - my biggest lesson these last few weeks has been to stay present - so I'm getting better and better at determining how I feel in any given moment.
This exercise takes it one step further - to really look inside and appreciate me and all the good I'm doing for myself and in the world. It puts it into perspective... it almost takes me outside of me and has me looking at myself through someone else's eyes - which is a neat perspective.
I'm going to add this self-appreciation exercise to my daily journaling exercise.
If you do something like this, I'd love to hear about how you started and what shifts you've seen as a result!
