Well let me tell you a bit about my marriage , I was married to Arvinder for 17 years ..He and I met in california we lived in the same apartment building , we were attracked to each other immediately his family was very mad at our relationship ..But when I became pregnant the first time were both devestated and even though for me it was the wrong thing we decided that an abortion was best .. I realized that he was the right man for me when he kept on fighting to see me and to make us work.. Then he got deported voluntarily what we did not know was that I was pregnant again right after we saw the judge who had told us to go to india to get married as the process would be much faster that way.. His dad came into the usa and we got along very well but his mom and I had a language barrier that made things hard.. I did with our at the time 2 month old son go to India to marry Arvinder it was really hard we were there for 8 months living in delhi and no one but his brother knowing we were in India as his mother did not accept the marriage at first.. People in India were strange to me either they were very sweet or very mean ..His brother was awesome coming to visit as often as possible and the owners of the house that we lived in were awesome as well... Karen one thing I can tell you about Indian men especially punjabi indian men is that they are either very attentive or very arrogant ..In private from my experience they are very sexually demanding which for me was not a problem..There is a definate difference on religion as well.. that issue did not come up for a long time once our daughter was born was when the religious issue came up ... Punjabi men have a strong stance on how there daughters should be... Ultimately the fights about or daughter and his verbal meanness with me caused a divorce.. Arvinder's parents were devistated when we got divorced but not so devistated that they turned around and arranged a new marriage for him in India prior to our divorce.. I lost everything in the divorce , the house, the money, the jewelry but what did I gain two our of three kids, my sanity and watching my daughter be ahppy instead of being so so depressed .. Just be careful the family will go along as long as you do what they want if not you will be caast aside and your life will be hell until the one day that you finally can forgive and forget and move on.. My x and I have become good friends now we now live about 5 minutes away from each other and go parent.. his wife and I adore each other... Would I do this all over again yes for sure with just a few changes .. I wish you the best of luck by the way the scenery in Amritsar which is not far from punjab is amazing the golden temple is there and if you dont get goose bumps from the religous feeling inside you have done something wrong.. All of the temples in india are amazing my favs are 86 steps and the golden temple.. of course the taj mahal and red fort are also must sees... if you need anything just ask... hugs tinker

I was married to a sikh for 18 years divorced about 3 years ago now.. Sikh men are very charming and India is wonderful there is so much history there the taj mahal is breath taking and the golden temple is awe inspiring it gave me massive chills the first time I saw it.. During our marriage we went to India almost every other year.. But here are my questions for you, is his family still alive in particular mom and dad??? It is very sad but even with all of the changes over the years in India an american woman and Indian man in India is not always a good thing the older parents still find it hard somethimes to let go of their beliefs of cross race,cross religion relationships.. My now X's parents were not happy in the beginning at all but eventually they came around. The religion beliefs are usually very strong in a sikh man and even though they have come a very long way a child that is a female is not treated the same as a male no matter what anyone says..I have a 16 year old daughter an 8 year old son and a 19 year old son and my daughter is living proof of the differences in how her dad treats her verses our sons.. Where in India is he from??? if you have any questions please feel free to ask I lived in punjab as well as delhi for 1 year each so I do have alot of knowledge on this subject.. I work a little out of the box using Meditation, Angels, Intuition, EFT and Intention to give this added power.
