- Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!"
Whatever cards destiny has handed over to us, let us make the most of them and try to play the game to derive the maximum benefit or happiness in our life. This is the basic philosophy of my life. I worked for over 42 years in all, 36 of them in the IRS in my country and six years in the UNITED NATIONS, New York, USA as a Senior Economist. However, I am just your average guy next door, with no hang-ups of any kind and try to laugh more at myself and at the world around me at the slightest pretext. Humor is the basic ingredient of my life. I have known more ‘downs’ than ‘ups’ in life and the only reason why/how I survived is due to my innate sense of humor. My hobbies include reading literature in English, French and Spanish, collection of jokes/anecdotes/ humorous incidents, music, long walks in the countryside or beaches, tennis and international economics. I have great interest in all the religions and philosophies of life.
My response to the knocks at my door have resulted in humility, compassion and equanimity in life. I have no regrets about any decisions I made in my life. There have been times when I think I may have made the wrong decision but learned and grew and was stronger for the experience. I have lived my life to the fullest with not a single dull moment. It is only a pessimist who complains of noise when opportunity knocks his door.
I am always questioning and learning, and I seem young and alive no matter what my chronological age, for my mind is always alert, curious, flexible and open to new experiences. I have a childlike enthusiasm for anything new and I learn easily. I can be something of a multi-dimensional personality, for I tend to have so many ideas and irons in the fire that it is hard to keep track of them all. I need and crave variety, change, mental stimulation, and an active social life. Loyal, devoted, and sentimental, I tend to appreciate whatever is dear to me, be it person, familiar place, or cherished possession.

- the primary purpose of my joining this community is to meet people on -line who have same philosophy of life and aspirations such as mine.
I am basically interested in “pen-friendship” with women with a positive attitude towards life belonging to any age, faith, color or creed with fairly similar interests as mine, with a good sense of humor.

- About Me:
- I am Suresh from Canada. I worked for 6 years in the United Nations, New York, USA (1997-2003) as an Interregional Adviser in Resource Mobilization (Senior International Economist) and for 36 years in India in the IRS (?). I have traveled far and wide, Turkmenistan, Jordan, Cape Verde, Somaliland, Kosovo, Nigeria, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Soviet Russia, Ukraine, Japan, South Korea and China.
I was educated in Bombay, India (B.Com. and LL.B.), University of Paris, France, and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. I speak fluently English, French, Spanish and about 5 Indian languages. I love to read literature in English, French and Spanish. I simply adore Gabriel Garcia Marquez (El Amor en los Tiempos de Colera, Doce Cuentos Peregrinos, NoTicia de un Secuestro) and Mario Vergas Llosa (La Tia Julia y el escribidor). I simply adore Spanish language and Spanish speaking people.
I like to make friends online and enjoy exchanging views, humor and all good things of life. "It is only a pessimist who complains of noise when opportunity knocks his doors". My another favorite observation is "For a beautiful woman, the biggest pain in life is to be loved by a fool"

Thank you for your message. We also have "Transcendental Meditation" initiated by Maharshi Mahesh Yogi in the 1960s which became very popular. If you are interested in this subject, do let me know.
I am presently living in Guelph, Ontario State, Canada till end of September 2008. Thereafter, I shall go back to Mumbai, India where I live. Where are you in Italy? Last time, in September 1996, I was in San Martino al Cimino, about 60 miles away from Rome for a Conference but earlier in August, 1973, I spent glorious 12 days in Rome, Firenzie, Venezia, Milano, Napoli, Capri, Amalfi and Sorrento. Italy is by far the most beautiful country in the world, with great monuments, paintings and scuptures. I saw most of them.
