- About Me:
- I live and work in New Orleans...I have been married for 10 years to someone who possesses the qualities that I have always hoped for in a partner, and we have an incredible 5 year old daughter. I own/run two companies (counseling center for children and a boxed water company), but have managed a way to perform the duties of both from home so that I can spend the majority of my time with my family, and work on my own spiritual growth.
In January 2008, something sparked inside of me... and I began exploring spiritual topics with a thirst that cannot seem to be quenched....reading Tolle, Dyer, Hay, Shimoff, Byrne, Chodron, Weiss, Frankl, Hillman, Lesser, Hicks, Zukov, Dossey, Virtue and more. I did watch the Eckhart/Oprah series which only fueled the fire, as well as the Oprah's weekly Soul Series where she interviews all of these amazing writers.
I have been opposed to organized religion from as long as I can remember, which apparently kept me away from spiritual exploration for so many years. But I am back on track now.
The world is opening up to me in ways I cannot explain....I can sit now and just watch an insect (my favorites are dragonflies, spiders, and butterflies) for what seems like an hour, watch a sunset (really watch it), notice the absolute beauty in all living things, etc...and literally feel connected. I frequently get "goose bump moments" in the heat of New Orleans....
I am listening to my intuition, and am amazed daily at the accuracy in the messages and guidance. I am making a deliberate effort to include meditation in my daily routine. I run my companies with ethics and integrity at all costs.
.....most important to me, I am sharing my learning experiences openly with my daughter....we are literally growing and learning together....she shares with her friends the importance of meditating (although she can only sit still for a few minutes, it is a start and is amazing to watch her try), talks about recycling, not killing bugs or harming animals, and loving the universe, God, others and herself. She says one of her goals in life is to one day "free the animals from the zoo here in New Orleans"...so if you read about that in the paper one day, you heard it here first! :)
My husband is "open" to spiritual ideas and believes the basic truths, but not quite as "actively interested" (at this time) as I am in "seeking". But, he is supportive, and open to discussing spiritual issues/theories/ideas that I bring up. I caught him talking about manifesting an idea the other day! Thats progress!
My lifelong friend -another member of PI named Karen (Reflectra) has been supportive in my growth, and she strongly recommended this community of friends to me. She is an amazing light and energy. Thank you Karen!
