Morning Musings
When the sun come up each morning I'm reminded that, for ancient peoples, this daily cycle was in a very real sense seen as the daily death and rebirth of light and life. What do you want?
As a Reiki practitioner I've become familiar with certain aspects of behavior that can at times seem like a paradox. When people seek out Reiki it is generally because they have a problem to resolve. This can range from serious physical illness to dealing with psychological issues, fears, phobias or other related problems.

The Illusion of Time
There a lot of advice one hears about being in the moment. Much of the focus of meditation is about being present in the moment. All fine and good and, as many will testify a great way to let so called problems fall away and find peace and relaxation, if only briefly.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A word can create a thousand pictures. What words can you attach to your pictures? So that people can remember your pictures.

When I received my first Reiki initiation I underwent some very intense emotional and physical experiences for the first week or so. These experiences would be very difficult to describe briefly, but it is sufficient to say that they were so constant and overwhelming that I had trouble sleeping. They also make it difficult for me to focus my attention on much else.
I kind of endured this for as long as I thought I could. When there seemed to be no let up in sight I finally called my Reiki master and asked how to make it stop. This caused her to laugh for several minutes.
Apparently my experiences were somewhat unusual and surprising even for her. In those first weeks I went through things which really did make me wonder what I'd gotten myself into.
I agree about the taste difference between food cooked in the microwave vs the stove. We have a microwave but use it principally for thawing or reheating. 99% of everything we cook is done on the stove or in the oven.
